Can You Put a Loyalty Card in Google Wallet? Here’s How It Works
Yes. Google Wallet supports loyalty and rewards cards, and supported issuers can let customers save passes directly from a website or app. Here is how that works with Loytu.
Yes. Google Wallet can store loyalty, rewards and membership cards, so customers can keep a digital loyalty pass alongside other items they already carry on their phone.
For a business, that means a loyalty programme does not necessarily need its own customer app. The card can be issued as a digital pass that the customer chooses to save to Google Wallet.
How Google Wallet loyalty cards are added
Google supports loyalty cards inside Google Wallet and also allows partner issuers to provide an Add to Google Wallet option from a website or app.
When a customer uses that option, the supported pass is added to their Google Wallet account so they can open it again from Wallet later.
How this works with Loytu
A business creates its loyalty programme in Loytu and shares it with customers using its public page, link or QR code. On supported devices, the customer can use the Google Wallet option provided with their Loytu card to save the pass.
The customer does not need to install a separate Loytu customer app just to hold the card.
The Wallet pass is the card—not the whole loyalty system
Google Wallet gives the customer a convenient place to keep and present the card. Loytu remains the system the business uses to manage the programme, issue stamps and handle rewards.
That distinction is useful: customers get a familiar wallet experience while the business keeps the programme logic in one place.
Why this is useful for small businesses
Independent businesses rarely need to build and maintain their own consumer mobile app just to offer digital loyalty. A wallet pass removes much of that friction while still giving the customer something they can quickly find on their phone.
What if the customer does not use Google Wallet?
The loyalty programme should not depend on one wallet. Loytu can still provide the customer's digital card through the normal collection flow, while wallet options give supported customers a more convenient place to keep it.
The important part is making collection easy. A QR code or link should get the customer to their card without making them search for your business inside a wallet app first.
